The chaplain at a Saskatchewan provincial jail says inmates are being set up to fail because there's not enough safe places for them to live after they're released from custody.

AMHERST, Mass. One area homeless shelter will be closing its doors, and advocates for the homeless aren't giving it up without a fight.
The Town of Amherst says it plans to close the "Warming Center" for the homeless on Monday.
The shelter, which was housed in the First Baptist Church, provided a warm place to stay for dozens of homeless people in Amherst.

Plans to locate the city's homeless shelter near Douglas County Jail will face their first hurdle on Monday.
Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission will consider approving a special-use permit for the 125-bed shelter at its 6:30 p.m. meeting Monday at City Hall.
Planning staff members are recommending approval of the permit and also are recommending that the permit not be subject to an automatic expiration date.
Traditionally, special-use permits must be periodically renewed by the City Commissio

Roy's Desert Resource Center, the western Coachella Valley's new homeless shelter, has been open for about three months — and officials report it's already nearing capacity.
Valley residents seeking shelter from the streets presently fill on average 80 of the 90 available beds a night at the facility, according to Desert SOS, which operates Roy's Desert Resource Center.
The shelter, in a Palm Springs industrial zone off Interstate 10, aims to serve the western Coachella Valley's homeless population.

The City of Olympia plans to clean out homeless camps in city parks and along the Woodland Trail after receiving a number of complaints from neighbors about zoning, sanitation and drug-abuse issues.
Olympia Police Lt. Bill Wilson said the police department has given residents of camps along the Woodland Trail about 30 days notice that they need to move.
He said residents will be warned again before camps are cleared.
